He is really happy about the blog and about the comments. He does log on and look! He is going back to the doctor tomorrow for blood tests ... so lets hope for some good numbers! Until then, I have rented him a movie; which to be honest, I don't know if it is any good. The Book of Eli. It is bad enough he can't sleep well, it would stink if he is stuck with a lousy movie.

Blood Transfusion
I was hoping Pop Pop would get online and blog about his day but I don't think he is feeling up to it. They transfused one pint of blood and he still looks jaundice and feels sluggish. He has lost his appetite and can't find anything that appeals to him.

Today was a difficult day. Pop Pop woke-up with terrible body aches and unsteady legs (though he doesn't complain and wants everyone to be happy). He went to UNC for blood work and the doctor wants him to return tomorrow for a blood transfusion because he is anemic. She has also scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist on 10-04-10 to look at two spots (one on his foot and one on his arm).
If you are following his blood work, I made a few corrections today.

Platelet Transfusion
Yesterday's blood work showed that Pop Pop's platelets have dropped very low, 5 x 109/L. Today he went to the hospital as an out-patient to have a platelet transfusion. I saw him briefly and he looks tired and a bit run down. Welcome to Pop Spot ... where I hope to keep everyone updated on Pop Pop. I am a bit behind so the first few pictures and videos will be from last week; however, I don't think you mind.
